Mom is wearing 80s Tadashi which coincidentally the same
designer Octavia Spencer wore to the Oscars last night.
Tabran is wearing a really sexy drape back
A.J. Bari from the 80s as well.

Look for more of Tabran. I want to
thank my good friend Antonio for
introducing us. She is such a
dear to work with.

I finally had the opportunity to do my first photo shoot this weekend. I have a vast vintage clothing collection (that I will be parting with very soon) and we didn't get to all of the ensembles I brought for the shoot. While it really didn't go like I wanted it to— we did it nonetheless. I didn't have a makeup artist or a hair stylist.....so I was it...ugh It brought back memories of when I use to do hair.....YES I am a cosmetologist. I'll spare all the boring details on that part of my life for another day. I'm still going through the 376 pictures Ford took. These are only a few of the outtakes. ENJOY these for now. OH I invited Chastity who Ford absolutely loved! She took some lovely photographs as well.

Del we missed you being there!

FINALLY!

24 February 2012
Finally this day has come....

For years now I've privately sourced vintage clothing for family and close friends. I still love to shop for vintage clothing as a hobby....yup I have rolling rack full of clothing I personally can't wear— go figure that one out. Well tonight is my first studio photo shoot. I have a model and everything!! Woo Hoo so I thought I'd share a few pieces since I'm packing everything up to transport to the studio.

Found at two separate shops this is a ensemble I'm putting together. I think they go well together...we will see.

I can't even begin to tell you how gorgeous 60s Vinchi piece is. It's three separate pieces pants, top and a maxi coat. You'll have to wait to see after the shoot, it's gorgeous I tell ya!!

I love this 70s Lilli Ann skirt suit! So classic.

You'll just have to be surprised with this one. Trust! It's hot.

Well, that's all I'm going to show for now I have to get back to packing this stuff up. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I can't wait to share pictures next week. If you follow me on twitter, you might get some real-time sneak peeks from the photo shoot. Who knows? It depends on how I feel.

Have a good one!

POSHMARK at HOTEL INDIGO DALLAS

23 February 2012
I attended the Poshmark event last night at Hotel Indigo. I found out about at the very last minute...but I wanted to go to check it out. It's a very interesting concept. You download the app to your iPhone. You take a picture of a fashion item {i.e dress, blouse, shoes, purse, etc} upload it for sale and hopefully someone buys it. I hope I explained that right? You can check here for all the deets.

Were the natural hair ladies in full effect or what?

Though we've spoken via phone a few times; I had the pleasure of meeting Brandie and Chasity for the first time. I hate I missed the opportunity of meeting Elissa. We were in the same room but didn't have a chance to talk. Maybe next time? By the way the young lady in the blue with the ears on that is Poshmark's co-founder Tracy Sun.

I love the ensemble Chastity was wearing. She had a modern 80s vibe going. Porsha is always so boho chic when I see her. Next time I'll be sure to pull out my most fierce outfit at the next fashion related event I attend!!

Man I tell ya! Porsha was is almost every picture? She such the social butterfly.

I wish I had known a tad earlier about this event. I know a number of other bloggers from the area that should have been there it! Oh well......be sure to check out this wonderful new app. You might like it— PLUS it's a great way to sell your fashionable things you're no longer wearing or don't want. (keyword: fashionable)

DID I MENTION I DON'T CELEBRATE VALENTINE'S DAY?

14 February 2012
I've always wondered why people waste...yup ummm humm I said waste money— buying flowers and candy no one really eats. I show my love 365 24/7 to people in my life. I don't wait until one day to let people in my life know that I love them.
Now, with email, twitter and facebook most people are out of touch. A simple handwritten note would fix that. Let's get back to the simple things pick of the phone and call someone just to say hello, write a note in a beautiful card and send it to them. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow is not promised. Tell people in your life you love them; show people you love them. Not just on this day, but everyday.

Happy Valentine's Day!

This card and many other fabulous cards can be ordered here and the beautiful thing about these cards they can be framed

THRIFT DECOR TIP: vintage furs

08 February 2012
Often times when I go thrifting I come across vintage furs that are slightly damaged or beyond repair for someone to wear. I use to pass them up, but not anymore when the price is right. Old furs can be used to create a cozy and sexy room. With basic sewing skills create a simple throw or pillow— toss one on the back of a sofa or on a small stool. Even little fido can use one on his bed. Not to worry PETA won't come knocking.

Itsy Bits x Pieces. A Monday routine from now on.

A few Dallas bloggers met up to thrift this past Saturday. We met up at Good to go Tacos. It was my first time there. Food must have been good 'cause the line was long and word on the street is it's long all the time. I'm glad I ate before leaving home. There were a few others that joined us— we had a really good time. See a few pictures of the fun here. (oh you gotta become my friend on flickr to see the photos after today) We made our way to The Garland Thrift, Casa View Thrift, Value World and Ferguson Road Thrift. All of them were in the same general area. See the last thrift tweetup here and the first one here.

How do I say this? I buy groceries but I don't cook as often as I use to. My children are young men now (19 & 22, the oldest is away at college) and can fin for themselves. I believe I would cook more often if I took the time to organize my freezer like this and not just shove stuff in there....I might could find something.

An associate of mine has closed her shop and has this lovely 70s vintage gold tone metal ètagère for sale. It's located in the Dallas,Texas metro area and breaks down easily for shipping or transport. If you're interested in it email me for details. She how Small Shop used hers here, and ModFruGal uses hers as a bar I don't think I ever would have thought to do that and I'm pretty clever.

AND

I watch a lot of old movies and sitcoms. I caught an episode of the Twilight Zone "The Obsolete Man."  Go here to see it....no really look at it. It's really a thought provoking episode. Watch and tell me what you think.  Happy Monday!

MY NEW BABY

03 February 2012
I've been after a new camera for the longest. Introducing my new Nikon1 J1... I love it. I've only used it a few times since getting but I'll be putting it to good use this weekend during my thrift tweetup with and a few others It's going to be fun! In Dallas,TX and wanna join us? Tweet one of us or email me for details.

Have a fabulous weekend and I'll see you back here on Monday.

THE PROJECT || BAMBOO CHAIR

01 February 2012
project_bamboo_chair
I have several little projects I've been putting off and off and off. This one of them. I had hoped to sell it at the swap and flea this past Sunday but no one wanted one lonely little chair. They wanted two, so I decided to paint it and keep it for myself. I patched a couple of loose spots using gorilla glue, I'll wait until tomorrow to paint it after the glue cures and then I'll be painting it orange. I was inspired by Bri.

I've chosen the color, any suggestions for the seat? Don't want to use any animal print, trellis or ikat. Truth be told I'm tired of seeing of those patterns.

Don't forget you can chat with me via twitter.
